POETRY

This poem appears in the Common Language Project Anthology 2023. Each poem entered into the CLP competition had to contain the same 30 words and center around the theme "networks."

My poem "Homestead Crater, UT" is written from the perspective of a mythical creature living in a hot spring cave.

A blue pool of water with light shining in the middle. The pool of water is surrounded by dark cave walls. Two women swim in the pool.

This poem is a type of haibun (typically a prose poem combined with a haiku). It explores the weekly rodeo in the Stockyards of Fort Worth, TX.

My poem "Unwritten" received Honorable Mention in the 2023 Academy of American Poets Prize competition at Hope College.

Rule XIX of the US Senate states that a US Senator cannot insult their colleagues. But what if this rule didn't exist?

Circular arrangement of wooden desks and chairs centered around tables at the front of the room. The US Senate.

I was lucky to have a beautiful park across the street from my elementary school. The park was the site of many childhood adventures and battles.
